عبداللہ بن عمرو ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ ان کلمات کے ذریعہ دعا کرتے تھے: اللہم إني أعوذ بک من غلبة الدين وشماتة الأعداء اللہ! میں قرض کے دباؤ اور شماتت اعداء یعنی دشمنوں کے ہنسنے سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں ۔
It was narrated from Abdullah bin Amr that : The Messenger of Allah (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) used to say supplication in these words: "Allahumma inni audhu bika min ghalabatid-dain, wa ghalabatil-aduwwi, wa shamatatil-ada (O Allah, I seek refuge with You from being overwhelmed by debt and from being overpowered by the enemy, and from the enemy rejoicing at my misfortune).

It was narrated from Uthman bin Abi Al-As that: The Prophet (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) used to say supplication in these words: "Allahumma inni audhu bika minal-kasali, walharami, wal-jubni, wal-ajzi, wa min fitnatil-mahya wal-mamat. (O Allah, I seek refuge in You from laziness, old age, cowardice, and incapacity, and from the trials of life and death).

١ ؎: مراد ایسا بڑھاپا ہے جس میں آدمی بالکل بےبس و لاچار ہوجاتا ہے، اسی کو ارذل العمر کہا گیا ہے جس میں آدمی کی بھلے برے کی تمیز بھی ختم ہوجاتی ہے، عام بڑھاپا جو ساٹھ سال کی عمر میں میں ہوتا ہے تو اس سے تو آپ ﷺ خود دوچار ہوئے تھے (نیز بہت سارے صحابہ کرام بھی) جو یہ دعا مانگا کرتے تھے۔
عبداللہ بن عمرو ؓ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ ﷺ کو کہتے ہوئے سنا: اللہم إني أعوذ بک من الکسل والهرم والمغرم والمأثم وأعوذ بک من شر المسيح الدجال وأعوذ بک من عذاب القبر وأعوذ بک من عذاب النار اے اللہ! میں سستی و کاہلی، بڑھاپے، قرض اور معصیت (گناہ) سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں، اور مسیح دجال کے شر و فتنے سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں، قبر کے عذاب سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں، اور جہنم کے عذاب سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں ۔
It was narrated from Amr bin Shuaib, from his father, that his grandfather said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) say: Allahumma inni audhu bika minal-kasali, walharami, wal-maghrami, wal-mathami, wa audhu bika min sharril-masihid-dajjali, wa audhu bika min adhabil-qabri, wa audhu bika min adhabin-nar (O Allah, I seek refuge in You from laziness, old age, debt and sin, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of the Al-Masihid-Dajjal, and I seek refuge in You from the torment of the grave, and I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the Fire).

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: "The Prophet (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) used to seek refuge from these three: From being overtaken by destruction, from his enemies rejoicing in his misfortune, from being destined to an evil end, and from the difficult moment of a calamity." Sufyan (one of the narrators) said: "There were three, and I mentioned four because I do not remember which one was not one of them.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah (RA) that : The Prophet (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) used to seek refuge from being destined to an evil end, from his enemies rejoicing in his misfortune, from being overtaken by destruction and from the difficult moment of a calamity.

It was narrated from Anas that: The Prophet (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) used to say: "Allahumma inni audhu bika minal-jununi wal-jadhami, wal-barasi wa sayyil-asqam (O Allah, I seek refuge in You from possession, leprosy, leukederma and bad sickness (that may lead to visible deformity).

ابو سعید خدری ؓ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ جنوں کی نظر بد اور انسانوں کی نظر بد سے اللہ کی پناہ مانگتے تھے، پھر جب معوذتین اتری تو آپ نے ان کو پڑھنا شروع کیا اور باقی سب چھوڑ دیا۔
It was narrated that Abu Saeed said: "The Messenger of Allah (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) used to seek refuge from the evil eye of the Jinn and the evil eye of humans. When Al-Muawwadhatan were revealed, he started to recite them and stopped reciting anything else.

انس ؓ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ ان کلمات کے ذریعے پناہ مانگتے تھے، آپ کہتے تھے: اللہم إني أعوذ بک من الکسل والهرم والجبن والبخل وسوء الکبر وفتنة الدجال و عذاب القبر اے اللہ! میں سستی و کاہلی، بڑھاپے، بزدلی و کم ہمتی، بخیلی و کنجوسی، بڑھاپے کی برائی، دجال کے فتنے اور قبر کے عذاب سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں ۔
It was narrated that Anas said: "The Messenger of Allah (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) used to seek refuge by saying these words: Allahumma inni audhu bika minal-kasali, wal-harami, wal-jubni, wal-bukhli, wa suwil-kibari, wa fitnatid-dajjali wa adhabil-qabr (O Allah, I seek refuge with You from laziness, old age, cowardice, miserliness, a bad old age, the tribulation of the Dajjal and the torment of the grave).

مصعب بن سعد اپنے والد سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ وہ ہمیں پانچ باتیں سکھاتے تھے جن کے ذریعے رسول اللہ ﷺ دعا کرتے تھے، آپ کہتے تھے:اللہم إني أعوذ بک من البخل وأعوذ بک من الجبن وأعوذ بک من أن أرد إلى أرذل العمر وأعوذ بک من عذاب القبر اے اللہ! میں بخل سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں، بزدلی و کم ہمتی سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں، لاچاری و مجبوری کی عمر کو پہنچنے سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں اور قبر کے عذاب سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں ۔
It was narrated that Abdul-Malik bin Umair said: "I heard Musab bin Sad say, concerning his father: He used to teach us five things that the Messenger of Allah (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) used to recite in his supplication, and say: "Allahumma inni audhu bika minal-bukhli, wa audhu bika minal-jubni, wa audhu bika an uradda ila ardhalil-umuri, wa audhu bika min adhabil-qabr (O Allah, I seek refuge in You from miserliness, and I seek refuge in You from cowardice, and I seek refuge in You from reaching the age of senility, and I seek refuge in You from the torment of the grave.

عمرو بن میمون کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے عمر ؓ کے ساتھ حج کیا، تو مقام جمع میں انہیں کہتے ہوئے سنا: سنو! نبی اکرم ﷺ پانچ چیزوں سے پناہ مانگتے تھے، فرماتے تھے: اللہم إني أعوذ بک من البخل والجبن وأعوذ بک من سوء العمر وأعوذ بک من فتنة الصدر وأعوذ بک من عذاب القبر اے اللہ! میں بخیلی و کنجوسی اور کم ہمتی و بزدلی سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں، بری (لاچاری کی) عمر سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں، سینے (دل) کے فتنے سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں، اور قبر کے عذاب سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں ۔
It was narrated that Amr bin Maimun said: "I went for Hajj with Umar, and in Muzdalifah, I heard him say that the Prophet (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) used to seek refuge from five things: Allahumma inni audhu bika minal-bukhli, wal-jubni, wa audhu bika min suil-umuri, wa audhu bika min fitnatis-sadri, wa audhu bika min adhabil-qabr (O Allah, I seek refuge with You from miserliness and cowardice, and I seek refuge with You from reaching the age of second childhood, and I seek refuge in You from the ills of the heart, and I seek refuge in You from the torment of the grave.

It was narrated from Abdullah bin Sarjis that : When the Messenger of Allah (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) traveled, he would say: "Allahumma inni audhu bika min wathais-safari, wa kabatil-munqalabi, wal-hawri badal-kawri, wa dawatil-mazlumi, wa suwil-munzari fil-ahli wal-mal (O Allah, I seek refuge with You from the hardships of travel and the sorrows of return, from loss after plenty, from the supplication of the one who has been wronged, and seeing some calamity befall my family or wealth).

ابوہریرہ ؓ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ جب سفر کرتے اور سواری پر سوار ہوتے تو انگلی سے اشارہ کرتے (شعبہ نے اپنی انگلی دراز کی) اور کہتے تھے: اللہم أنت الصاحب في السفر والخليفة في الأهل والمال اللہم إني أعوذ بک من وعثاء السفر وکآبة المنقلب اے اللہ! تو ہی سفر کا ساتھی ہے، اور گھر والوں اور مال میں ہمارا نگہبان و خلیفہ ہے، اے اللہ! میں سفر پر جاتے وقت کی دشواری و پریشانی اور لوٹتے وقت کے رنج و غم سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں ۔
It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: "When the Messenger of Allah (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) traveled and rode his mount, he gestured with his finger - and Shubah (one of the narrators) stretched out his finger - and said: Allahumma, antas-sahibu fis-safari wal-khalifatu fil-ahli wal-mal. Allahumma, inni audhu bika min wathais-safari, wa kabatil-munqalabi (O Allah, You are our help when we are traveling and the One Who takes care of our families and wealth (in our absence). O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the hardships of travel and the sorrows of return).

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: "The Messenger of Allah (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) said: Seek refuge with Allah from a bad neighbor in ones permanent abode, for ones neighbor in the desert will change.

انس بن مالک ؓ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ابوطلحہ ؓ سے فرمایا: میری خدمت کے لیے اپنے لڑکوں میں سے ایک لڑکا تلاش کرو ، تو ابوطلحہ مجھے اپنے پیچھے بٹھائے ہوئے لے کر نکلے۔ چناچہ میں رسول اللہ ﷺ کی خدمت کرتا تھا، جب جب آپ قیام کرتے میں اکثر آپ کو کہتے ہوئے سنتا: اللہم إني أعوذ بک من الهرم والحزن والعجز والکسل والبخل والجبن وضلع الدين وغلبة الرجال اے اللہ! میں بڑھاپے سے، حزن و غم، عاجزی و کاہلی، بخیلی و بزدلی سے، قرض کے بوجھ اور لوگوں کے قہر اور غلبے سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں ۔
Anas bin Malik (RA) said: "The Messenger of Allah (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) said to Abu Talhah: Find me one of your boys to serve me. Abu Talhah brought me out, riding behind him, and I served the Prophet (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) every time he stopped (on his journey). And I often heard him say: Allahumma, inni audhu bika min al-harami, wal-huzni, wal-ajzi, wal-kasali, wal-bukhli, wal-jubni, wa dalaid-dain, wa ghalabatir-rijal (O Allah, I seek refuge in You from old age, grief, incapacity, laziness, miserliness, cowardice, the burden of debt and being overpowered by men).

ام المؤمنین عائشہ ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی اکرم ﷺ قبر کے عذاب اور دجال کے فتنے سے اللہ کی پناہ مانگتے اور فرماتے: قبروں میں تمہاری آزمائش ہوگی ۔
It was narrated from Aishah (RA) that: The Prophet (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) used to seek refuge with Allah from the torment of the grave and the tribulation of the Dajjal, and he said: "You will be tried in your graves.

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: "The Messenger of Allah (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) said: "Audhu billahi min adhabi jahannama, wa audhu billahi min adhabil-qabri, wa audhu billahi min sharril-masihid-dajjali, wa audhu billahi min sharri fitnatil-mahya wal-mamat (I seek refuge with Allah from the torment of Hell, and I seek refuge with Allah from the torment of the grave, and I seek refuge with Allah from the evil of the Dajjal, and I seek refuge with Allah from the evil of the trials of life and death).

ابوذر ؓ کہتے ہیں کہ میں مسجد میں داخل ہوا، رسول اللہ ﷺ اندر تھے، میں آپ کے پاس بیٹھ گیا، آپ نے فرمایا: ابوذر! جن اور انس کے شیاطین کے شر سے (اللہ کی) پناہ مانگو ، میں نے عرض کیا: کیا انسانوں میں بھی شیطان ہوتے ہیں؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ہاں ۔
It was narrated that Abu Dharr said: "I entered the Masjid and the Messenger of Allah (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) was there, so I came and sat before him and he said: O Abu Dharr, seek refuge with Allah from the evils of the devils among the Jinn and mankind. I said: Are there devils among mankind? He said: Yes.
