Rabbana afrigh 'alayna sabran wa thabbit aqdamana wa ansurna 'ala al-qawmi al-kafireen
Our Lord, pour upon us patience and plant firmly our feet and give us victory over the disbelieving people.
اے ہمارے رب! ہم پر صبر انڈیل دے اور ہمارے قدم جما دے اور کافر قوم کے مقابلے میں ہماری مدد فرما
[Surah Al-Baqarah: 250]

اَللّٰهُمَّ اكْفِنِیْهِمْ بِمَا شِئْتَ
Allāhummakfinīhim bimā shi’ta.
O Allah! Suffice (i.e. protect) me against them in any way You wish.
اے الله! مجھے ان (دشمن) کے مقابلے میں کافی ہوجا جس چیز کے ساتھ بھی تو چاہے

Background & narration
Story of the people of the ditch: the incident in which the young boy sought protection from his enemy by supplicating:
O Allah! Suffice (i.e. protect) me against them in any way You wish.

اصحاب الاخدود کا وه واقعه جس میں لڑکے نے دشمن کے شر سے بچنے کے لیے دعا کی:
اَللّٰھُمَّ اکْفِنِیْھِمْ بِمَا شِئْتَ۔
اے الله! مجھے ان (دشمن) کے مقابلے میں کافی ہوجا جس چیز کے ساتھ بھی تو چاہے۔
(صحیح مسلم: 7511)
Allāhumma innā naj‘aluka fī nuḥūrihim wa na‘ūdhubika min shurūrihim.
O Allah! Indeed, we place You before them (i.e. make You a shield) and we seek refuge in You from their evil.
اے الله! بے شک ہم تجھ کو ان کے مقابلے میں رکھتے ہیں اور ان کے شر سے تیری پناه طلب کرتے ہیں
Sunan Abū Dawūd: 1537 Ṣaḥīḥ
سنن أبی داؤد: 1537 صحیح
Background & narration
Abū Mūsa al-Ash‘arī (r.a) narrated that when the Prophet (s.a.w) feared a (group of) people, he would say:
O Allah! Indeed, we place You before them (i.e. make You a shield) and we seek refuge in You from their evil.
[Sunan Abū Dawūd: 1537] Ṣaḥīḥ
حضرت ابو موسیٰ اشعری رضی الله عنه سے روایت ہے که نبی کریم صلی الله علیه وسلم کو جب کسی قوم سے کوئی اندیشه یا خوف ہوتا تو اس طرح دعا کرتے:
اَللّٰھُمَّ اِنَّا نَجْعَلُکَ فِیْ نُحُوْرِھِمْ وَ نَعُوْذُبِکَ مِنْ شُرُوْرِھِمْ۔
اے الله! بے شک ہم تجھ کو ان کے مقابلے میں رکھتے ہیں اور ان کے شر سے تیری پناه طلب کرتے ہیں۔
(سنن أبی داؤد: 1537) صحیح
Inni ‘udhtu bi rabbī wa rabbikum min kulli mutakabbiril lā yu’minu bi yawmil ḥisāb.
Indeed, I have sought refuge in my Lord and your Lord from every arrogant one who does not believe in the Day of Account.
بے شک میں اپنے اور تمہارے رب کی پناه لے چکا ہوں ہر اس متکبر سے جو حساب کے دن پر ایمان نہیں لاتا
Surah Al-Mu’min: 27

Background & narration
The supplication Prophet Mūsa (a.s) made when Pharaoh had resolved to murder him.
Indeed, I have sought refuge in my Lord and your Lord from every arrogant one who does not believe in the Day of Account.

حضرت موسیٰ علیه السّلام کی دعا جب فرعون نے ان کو قتل کر نے کا اراده کیا:
اِنِّیْ عُذْتُ بِرَبِّیْ وَ رَبِّکُمْ مِّنْ کُلِّ مُتَکَبِّرٍ لَّا یُؤْمِنُ بِیَوْمِ الْحِسَابِ o
بے شک میں اپنے اور تمہارے رب کی پناه لے چکا ہوں ہر اس متکبر سے جو حساب کے دن پر ایمان نہیں لاتا۔
(الموءمن: 27)
Allahumma matti‘nī bisam‘ī wa baṣarī waj‘alhumal waritha minnī wanṣurnī ‘ala ma(n)y yaẓlimnī wa khudh minhu bitha’rī.
O Allah, benefit me with my hearing and my sight and let them both be my heirs (i.e. Let them last my entire life). Help me against the one who wrongs me and take revenge from him for me.
اے الله! تو مجھے میرے کانوں اور آنکھوں سے مستفید ہونے کا موقع عطا فرما اور ان دونوں کو میرا وارث بنا دے اور مجھ پر ظلم کرنے والے کے خلاف میری مدد فرما اور اس سے میرا انتقام لے
Sunan al-Tirmidhī: 3604/7 Ḥasan

Background & narration
Abū Hurairah (r.a) narrated that the Messenger of Allah supplicated:
O Allah, benefit me with my hearing and my sight and let them both be my heirs (i.e. Let them last my entire life). Help me against the one who wrongs me and take revenge from him for me.
[Sunan al-Tirmidhī: 3604/7] Ḥasan
حضرت ابو ہریره رضی الله عنه سے روایت ہے که رسول الله صلی الله علیه وسلم اس طرح دعا کیا کرتے تھے، فرماتے:
اَللّٰھُمَّ مَتِّعْنِیْ بِسَمْعِیْ وَ بَصَرِیْ وَ اجْعَلْھُمَا الْوَارِثَ مِنِّیْ وَ انْصُرْنِیْ عَلٰی مَنْ یَّظْلِمُنِیْ وَ خُذْ مِنْهُ بِثَاْرِیْ۔
اے الله! تو مجھے میرے کانوں اور آنکھوں سے مستفید ہونے کا موقع عطا فرما اور ان دونوں کو میرا وارث بنا دے اور مجھ پر ظلم کرنے والے کے خلاف میری مدد فرما اور اس سے میرا انتقام لے۔
(سنن الترمذی:7/ 3604) حسن
Allāhumma rabbas samāwātis sab‘i, wa rabbal ‘arshil ‘aẓīm, ku(n)l lī jāra(n)m min fulānibni fulāni(n)w wa aḥzābihī min khalā’iqika, ai(n)y yafruṭa ‘alayya aḥadu(n)m minhum aw yaṭghā, ‘azza jāruka wa jalla thana’uka, wa lā ilāha illā anta.
O Allah! Lord of the seven Heavens and Lord of the magnificent Throne, be my Protector against so-and-so, the son of so-and-so, and his followers among Your creatures so that none of them exceeds the bounds towards me or oppresses me. Your protection is mighty and Your praise is great. There is no true deity except You.
اے الله! ساتوں آسمانوں اور عرش عظیم کے رب! میرے لیے فلاں ابن فلاں سے پناه بن جا اور تیری مخلوق میں سے جو اس کے گروه ہیں ان سے بھی که ان میں سے کوئی ایک بھی مجھ پر زیادتی یا سرکشی کرے، تیری پناه بہت مضبوط ہے اورتیری تعریف بڑی شان والی ہے اور تیرے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں ہے
Al-Adab al-Mufrad lil-Bukhārī: 707 Ṣaḥīḥ
الأدب المفرد للبخاری : 707 صحیح
Background & narration
Abdullah bin Mas‘ūd (r.a) said, ‘when there is a ruler in charge of you whose arrogance or injustice is feared, you should say,
O Allah! Lord of the seven Heavens and Lord of the magnificent Throne, be my Protector against so-and-so, the son of so-and-so, and his followers among Your creatures so that none of them exceeds the bounds towards me or oppresses me. Your protection is mighty and Your praise is great. There is no true deity except You.’
[Al-Adab al-Mufrad lil-Bukhārī: 707] Ṣaḥīḥ
حضرت عبد الله بن مسعود رضی الله عنه نے فرمایا که جب تم میں سے کسی پر ایسا امام آئے جس کی خود پسندی اور ظلم سے تم ڈرو پس چاہیے که کہو
اَللّٰھُمَّ رَبَّ السَّمٰوٰتِ السَّبْعِ وَ رَبَّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِیْمِ، کُنْ لِّیْ جَارًا مِّنْ فُلَانِ بْنِ فُلَانٍ وَّ اَحْزَابِهِ مِنْ خَلَائِقِکَ، اَنْ یَّفْرُطَ عَلَیَّ اَحَدٌ مِّنْھُمْ اَوْ یَطْغٰی، عَزَّ جَارُکَ وَ جَلَّ ثَنَاؤُکَ وَ لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اَنْتَ۔
اے الله! ساتوں آسمانوں اور عرش عظیم کے رب! میرے لیے فلاں ابن فلاں سے پناه بن جا اور تیری مخلوق میں سے جو اس کے گروه ہیں ان سے بھی که ان میں سے کوئی ایک بھی مجھ پر زیادتی یا سرکشی کرے، تیری پناه بہت مضبوط ہے اورتیری تعریف بڑی شان والی ہے اور تیرے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں ہے۔

Allāhu Akbaru, Allāhu a‘azzu min khalqihī jamī‘an, Allāhu a‘azzu mimmā akhāfu wa aḥdharu, a‘ūdhu billāhil ladhī lā ilāha illā huwal mumsikis samāwātis sab‘i ai(n)y yaqa‘na ‘alal arḍi illā bi idhnihī, min sharri ‘abdika fulāni(n)w wa junūdihī wa atba‘ihī wa ashya‘ihī, minal jinni wal insi, Allāhumma ku(n)l lī jāram min sharrihim, jalla thanā’uka wa ‘azza jāruka, wa tabārakasmuka wa lā ilāha ghairuka.
(Thrice)
Allah is the Greatest, Allah is Mightier than all His creation and Allah is Mightier than all that I fear and all that I am wary of. I seek refuge with Allah. There is no true deity except Him, the One who withholds the seven heavens from falling onto the earth except by His permission, from the evil of your slave so-and-so and his armies and followers and supporters, both among jinn and men. O Allah, be my protector against their evil. Your praise is great and Your protection is immense. Blessed is Your Name. There is no true deity except You.
* Mention the name of the enemy in place of fulānin (so-and-so) (Thrice)
الله سب سے بڑا ہے، الله تعالیٰ اپنی تمام مخلوق پر غالب ہے، الله ان چیزوں سے کہیں زیادہ طاقت والا ہے جن سے میں خوف کھاتا اور ڈرتا ہوں اور میں الله کی پناه میں آتا ہوں جس کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں، ساتوں آسمانوں کو تھامنے والا که وه زمین پر نه گرجائیں مگر اس کی اجازت سے، تیرے فلاں بندے کے شر سے اور اس کے لشکروں، اس کے پیرو کاروں اور جنوں اور انسانوں میں سے اس کے ساتھیوں کے (شر سے بھی)، اے الله! ان کے شر سے میرے لیے پناه بن جا، تیری تعریف بڑی شان والی ہے اورتیری پناه بہت مضبوط ہے اور تیرا نام بابرکت ہے اور تیرے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں (تین بار) ٭ مِنْ شَرِّعَبْدِکَ فُلَانٍ ……فُلَانٍ کے بجائے دشمن کانام لیا جائے

Background & narration
Ibn ‘Abbās (r.a) said, when you go to an oppressive ruler and fear that he will dominate you, then say,
Allah is the Greatest, Allah is Mightier than all His creation and Allah is Mightier than all that I fear and all that I am wary of. I seek refuge with Allah. There is no true deity except Him, the One who withholds the seven heavens from falling onto the earth except by His permission, from the evil of your slave so-and-so and his armies and followers and supporters, both among jinn and men. O Allah, be my protector against their evil. Your praise is great and Your protection is immense. Blessed is Your Name. There is no true deity except You.

حضرت ابن عباس رضی الله عنه سے روایت ہے که انہوں نے کہا: جب تم کسی ظالم سلطان (بادشاہ) کے پاس آؤ اور تمہیں یه خوف ہو که وه تم پر غالب آجائے گا تو تین مرتبه یه دعا پڑھو:٠
اَللهُ اَکْبَرُ، اَللهُ اَعَزُّ مِنْ خَلْقِهِ جَمِیْعًا، اَللهُ اَعَزُّ مِمَّا اَخَافُ وَ اَحْذَرُ، اَعُوْذُ بِاللهِ الَّذِیْ لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا ھُوَ الْمُمْسِکِ السَّمٰوٰتِ السَّبْعِ اَنْ یَّقَعْنَ عَلَی الْاَرْضِ اِلاَّ بِاِذْنِهِ، مِنْ شَرِّ عَبْدِکَ فُلَانٍ وَّ جُنُوْدِهِ وَ اَتْبَاعِهِ وَ اَشْیَاعِهِ مِنَ الْجِنِّ وَ الْاِنْسِ، اَللّٰھُمَّ کُنْ لِّیْ جَارًا مِّنْ شَرِّھِمْ، جَلََّ ثَنَآؤُکَ وَ عَزَّ جَارُکَ وَ تَبَارَکَ اسْمُکَ وَ لَا اِلٰهَ غَیْرُکَ۔
