سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَ الْحَمْدُ للهِ وَ لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللهُ وَ اللهُ اَكْبَرُ

SubḥānAllāhi wal ḥamdullilāhi, wa lā ilāha illallāhu wAllāhu akbaru.

Glory be to Allah, and all praise is for Allah, and none has the right to be worshipped except Allah, and Allah is the greatest.

الله پاک ہے، تمام تعریف الله ہی کے لیے ہے، الله کے سوا کوئی معبود برحق نہیں ہے اور الله سب سے بڑا ہے

Background & narration

Abū Hurairah (r.a) reported Allah’s Messenger (s.a.w) said: ‘The uttering of these words: Glory be to Allah, and all praise is for Allah, and none has the right to be worshipped except Allah, and Allah is the greatest. is dearer to me than all that the sun rises upon.’ [Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim: 6847]

حضرت ابو ہریره رضی الله عنه سے روایت ہے که رسول الله صلی الله علیه وسلم نے فرمایا: مجھے یه کہنا سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَ الْحَمْدُ للهِ وَ لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللهُ وَ اللهُ اَکْبَرُ۔ الله پاک ہے، تمام تعریف الله ہی کے لیے ہے، الله کے سوا کوئی معبود برحق نہیں ہے اور الله سب سے بڑا ہے۔ ان تمام چیزوں سے زیاده پسند ہے جن پر سورج نکلتا ہے۔ (صحیح مسلم: 6847)

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلٰی آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

Allāhumma ṣalli 'alā muḥammadin wa 'alā āli muḥammadin

O Allah! bestow mercy upon Muhammadۖand the descendants of Muhammadۖ.

اے اللہ ! محمدؐ اور آل محمدؐ پر رحمت نازل فرما

(سنن النسائی، کتاب السھو، باب نوع آخر :1293 ) حسن

Background & narration

Fudala ibn Ubayd (may Allah be pleased with him) said: One day, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was sitting among us when a man entered the mosque, prayed, and then began to supplicate, saying: "O Allah! Forgive me, and have mercy on me." The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "O worshiper! You have hastened (in making supplication). When you finish your prayer and sit for supplication, first praise Allah in a manner befitting Him, then send blessings upon me, and then make supplication for yourself." Fudala ibn Ubayd (may Allah be pleased with him) said that another man prayed, praised Allah, and sent blessings upon the Prophet (peace be upon him), and then the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "O worshiper! Pray, and your supplication will be answered." Sunan At-Tirmidhi: 3476

فَضَالہ بن عُبَیْدرضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ(ایک روز) رسول اللہ ﷺ ہمارے درمیان تشریف فرما تھے کہ ایک آدمی (مسجد میں) داخل ہوا ، نماز پڑھی اور دعا مانگنے لگا۔ اے اللہ ! مجھے معاف فرما ، مجھ پر رحم کر۔رسول اللہﷺنے فرمایا : ''اے نمازی !تو نے (دعا مانگنے میں ) جلدی کی۔ جب نماز پڑھ لو اور دعا کے لیے بیٹھو تو اللہ کے شایانِ شان حمد و ثنا کرو پھر مجھ پر درود بھیجو پھر اپنے لیے دعا کرو''۔ فضالہ بن عبیدرضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایک دوسرے آدمی نے نماز پڑھی اور (اس کے بعد) اللہ کی حمد و ثنا کی، نبی کریم ﷺپر درود بھیجا تونبی کریمﷺ نے فرمایا:''اے نمازی! دعا کر تیری دعا قبول کی جائے گی''۔]سنن الترمذی:3476[

رَبِّ زِدْنِیْ عِلْمًا

Rabbi zidni ilma

My Lord, increase me in knowledge.

اے میرے رب ! میرے علم میں اضافہ فرما

4Masnoon Duaمسنون دعاء

Seeking Refuge from Shirk

جانے اور انجانے میں شرک سے بچنے کی دعا

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَعُوْذُبِكَ اَنْ اُشْرِكَ بِكَ وَاَنَا اَعْلَمُ وَاَسْتَغْفِرُكَ لِمَا لَا اَعْلَمُ

Allāhumma innī a‘ūdhubika an ushrika bika wa anā a‘lamu wa astaghfiruka limā lā a‘lamu.

O Allah! I take refuge in You lest I should commit shirk with You knowingly and I seek Your forgiveness for what I commit unknowingly.

اے اللہ! میں تیری پناہ چاہتا ہوں اس سے کہ میں جانتے بوجھتے تیرے ساتھ شرک کروں اورمیں بخشش مانگتا ہوں اس سے جو میں انجانے میں کروں

رَضِیْتُ بِاللهِ رَبًّا وَّ بِالْاِسْلَامِ دِیْنًا وَّ بِمُحَمَّدٍ نَبِیًّا

Raḍītu billāhi rabba(n)w wa bil islāmi dīna(n)w wa bi muḥammadin nabiyyan.(Once in the morning)

I am pleased with Allah as Lord, with Islam as religion, and with Muhammad (s.a.w) as Prophet. (Once in the morning)

میں الله کے معبود ہونے، اسلام کے دین ہونے اور حضرت محمد صلی الله علیه وسلم کے نبی ہونے پر راضی ہوا (ایک بار)

Al-Silsilah al-Ṣaḥīḥah: 2686

السلسلة الصحیحة : 2686

Background & narration

The Prophet (s.a.w) said, ‘If anyone says in the morning: I am pleased with Allah as Lord, with Islam as religion, and with Muhammad (s.a.w) as Prophet. I guarantee that I will continue to hold his hand until he is admitted to Jannah. Allah will certainly please him on the Day of Judgement’. [Al-Silsilah al-Ṣaḥīḥah: 2686]

رسول الله صلی الله علیه وسلم نے فرمایا جو شخص صبح کے وقت یه کہے: رَضِیْتُ بِاللهِ رَبًّا وَّ بِالْاِسْلَامِ دِیْنًا وَّ بِمُحَمَّدٍ نَبِیًّا۔ میں الله کے معبود ہونے، اسلام کے دین ہونے اور حضرت محمد صلی الله علیه وسلم کے نبی ہونے پر راضی ہوا۔ تو میں اس بات کا ضامن ہوں که اس کا ہاتھ پکڑے رکھوں گا یہاں تک که اسے جنت میں داخل کر دوں گا۔ (صبح ایک بار) (السلسلة الصحیحة : 2686)

Dua for Parents

والدین کے لیے دعا

رَبِّ ارْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِیْ صَغِيْرًا

Rabbi irhamhuma kama rabbayani saghira

My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up [when I was] small.

اے میرے رب! ان پر رحم فرما جس طرح اِنہوں نے رحمت و شفقت کے ساتھ مجھے بچپن میں پالا تھا

7Qurani Duaقرآنى دعاء

Asking Allah for Righteous Spouse and Offsprings

زوج اور اولاد کے آنکھوں کی ٹھنڈک ہوجانے کی دعا

رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ اَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ اَعْيُنٍ وَّاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِيْنَ اِمَامًا

Rabbana hab lana min azwajina wa dhurriyyatina qurrata a'yunin wa-j'alna lil-muttaqina imama

Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us an example for the righteous.

اے ہمارے رب! ہمیں اپنی بیویوں اور اولاد سے آنکھوں کی ٹھنڈک عطا فرما اور ہمیں متقین کا امام بنا

[Surah Al-Furqan: 74]

8Dua for Establishing Prayerاقامت صلوة کے لیے دعا

رَبِّ اجْعَلْنِیْ مُقِیْمَ الصَّلٰوةِ وَمِنْ ذُرِّیَّتِیْ رَبَّنَا وَتَقَبَّلْ دُعَآءِ۝

My Rabb, make me an establisher of prayer, and from my descendants. Our Rabb, and accept my supplication

اے میرے رب! مجھے اور میری اولاد کو نماز قائم رکھنے والا بنا۔ اے ہمارے رب! میری دعا قبول فرما۔

(ابراہیم:40)

اَللّٰهُمَّ اَنْتَ السَّلَامُ وَ مِنْكَ السَّلَامُ تَبَارَكْتَ یَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَ الْاِكْرَامِ

Allāhumma Antas Salāmu wa minkas Salāmu, tabārakta yā Dhal-Jalāli wal Ikrāmi. (Once)

O Allah, You are Peace and from You is all peace, blessed are You, O Possessor of majesty and honour. (Once)

اے الله! تو سلامتی والا ہے اور تیری ہی طرف سے سلامتی ہے اے بزرگی اور عزت کے مالک! تیری ذات بڑی با برکت ہے (ایک بار)

Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim: 1334

صحیح مسلم: 1334

Background & narration

Thawbān (r.a) narrated that when the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) concluded the prayer, he would say, I seek forgiveness from Allah. three times and said, O Allah, You are Peace and from You is all peace, blessed are You, O Possessor of majesty and honour. [Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim: 1334]

حضرت ثوبان رضی الله عنه سے روایت ہے که رسول الله صلی الله علیه وسلم جب اپنی نماز سے فارغ ہوتے تو تین بار اَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ۔۔ میں الله سے بخشش طلب کرتا ہوں۔ کہتے اور کہتے اَللّٰھُمَّ اَنْتَ السَّلَامُ وَ مِنْکَ السَّلَامُ تَبَارَکْتَ یَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَ الْاِکْرَامِ۔ اے الله! توسلامتی والا ہے اور تیری ہی طرف سے سلامتی ہے۔ اے بزرگی اور عزت کے مالک! تیری ذات بڑی با برکت ہے۔ (صحیح مسلم: 1334)

Seeking Goodness in Every Task

ہر کام میں خیر طلب کرنے کی دعا

رَبِّ اِنِّیْ لِمَآ اَنْزَلْتَ اِلَیَّ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَقِيْر

Rabbi inni lima anzalta ilayya min khairin faqir

My Lord, indeed I am, for whatever good You would send down to me, in need.

اے میرے رب! جو بھی خیر تو مجھ پر نازل فرمائے ، میں اس کا محتاج ہوں

Asking for Allah's Mercy and Goodness

رحمت اور ہر معاملے میں بھلائی طلب کرنا

رَبَّنَآ اٰتِنَا مِنْ لَّدُنْكَ رَحْمَةً وَّهيِّء لَنَا مِنْ اَمْرِنَا رَشَدًا

Rabbana atina min ladunka rahmah wa hayyi lana min amrina rashada

Our Lord, grant us from Yourself mercy and prepare for us from our affair right guidance.

اے ہمارے رب! ہمیں اپنی طرف سے رحمت عطا کر اور ہمارے لیے ہمارے معاملے میں بھلائی عطا فرما

Dua for Goodness in this Life and the Next

دنیا و آخرت میں بھلائی کی دعا

رَبَّنَآ اٰتِنَا فِی الدُّنْيا حَسَنَةً وَّ فِی الْاٰخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَّ قِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

Rabbana atina fi al-dunya hasanatan wa fi al-akhirati hasanatan wa qina 'adhaba al-nar

Our Lord, give us in this world [that which is] good and in the Hereafter [that which is] good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.

اے ہمارے رب! ہمیں دنیا میں بھلائی عطا فرما اور آخرت میں بھلائی عطا فرما اور ہمیں آگ کے عذاب سے بچا

[Surah Al-Baqarah: 201]

13Qurani Duaقرآنى دعاء

Asking for the Ability to be Grateful

نعمتوں کا شکر ادا کرنے کی توفیق مانگنا

رَبِّ اَوْزِعْنِیْ اَنْ اَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ الَّتِیْ اَنْعَمْتَ عَلَیَّ وَعَلَىٰ وَالِدَیَّ وَاَنْ اَعْمَلَ صَالِحًا تَرْضَاہُ وَاَصْلِحْ لِیْ فِیْ ذُرِّيَّتِیْ ۚ اِنِّیْ تُبْتُ اِلَیْكَ وَاِنِّیْ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِیْنَ

Rabbi awzi'ni an ashkura ni'mataka allati an'amta 'alayya wa 'ala walidayya wa an a'mala salihan tardahu wa aslih li fi dhurriyyati. Innii tubtu ilayka wa inni min al-muslimin

My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to work righteousness of which You will approve and make righteous for me my offspring. Indeed, I have repented to You, and indeed, I am of the Muslims.

اے میرے رب! مجھے توفیق دے کہ میں تیری اس نعمت کا شکر ادا کروں جو تُونے مجھ پر اور میرے والدین پر عطا فرمائی اور یہ کہ ایسا نیک عمل کروں جس سے تو راضی ہو جائے اورمیرے لیے میری اولاد کی اصلاح فرما دے، بے شک میں نے تیری طرف توبہ کی اور بے شک میں مسلمانوں میں سے ہوں

دنیا اورآخرت کو جمع کرنے والے کلمات

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِى وَارْحَمْنِى وَاهْدِنِى وَارْزُقْنِى

O Allah forgive me and have mercy on me and guide me and provide for me.

اے اللہ! مجھےبخش دے ،اور مجھ پر رحم فرما۔اور مجھے ہدایت دے اور مجھے رزق عطا فرما

15رنج و غم کے ازالے کے لئے

رنج و غم کے ازالے کے لئے

حَسْبُنَا اللهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِیْلُ

ḤasbunAllahu wa ni‘mal Wakīl.

Sufficient for us is Allah, and [He is] the best Disposer of affairs.

الله ہمیں کافی ہے اور وہی بہترین کار ساز ہے

Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī: 4563

صحیح البخاری: 4563

Background & narration

Ibn Abbās (r.a) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said, ‘The words, Sufficient for us is Allah, and [He is] the best Disposer of affairs. was uttered by Ibrāhīm (a.s) when he was thrown in the fire. It was also uttered by Muḥammad (s.a.w) when the people said to frighten the believers, ‘A great army is gathering against you, therefore, fear them,’ but it only increased their faith and they said: ‘Allah is Sufficient for us, and He is the Best Disposer of Affairs.’ [Āli ‘Imrān: 173][Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī: 4563]

حضرت ابن عباس رضی الله عنه سے روایت ہے که کلمه حَسْبُنَا اللهُ وَ نِعْمَ الْوَکِیْلُ۔ الله ہمیں کافی ہے اور وہی بہترین کار ساز ہے۔ ابراہیم علیه السلام نے اس وقت کہا تھا جب ان کو آگ میں ڈالا گیا تھا اور یہی کلمه محمد صلی الله علیه وسلم نے اس وقت کہا تھا جب لوگوں نے مسلمانوں کو ڈرانے کے لیے کہا تھا که "لوگوں (یعنی قریش) نے تمہارے خلاف بڑا سامان جنگ اکٹھا کر رکھا ہے، ان سے ڈرو لیکن اس بات نے ان مسلمانوں کا ایمان اور بڑھا دیا اور یه مسلمان بولے که ہمارے لیے الله کافی ہے اور وہی بہترین کارساز ہے"۔ (اٰل عمران: 173) (صحیح البخاری: 4563)

16Qurani Duaقرآنى دعاء

Acknowledging one's Sins and Glorifying Allah

گناہوں کا اعتراف اور تسبیح بیان کرنا

لَآ اِلَهَ اِلَّآ اَنْتَ سُبْحانَكَ اِنِّیْ كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِيْنَ

La ilaha illa anta subhanaka inni kuntu min al-thalimeen

There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers.

تیرے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں ہے،پاک ہے تو، بے شک میں ظالموں میں سے ہوں

[Surah Al-Anbiya: 87]

Seeking Goodness from Allah, the King

اللہ تعالیٰ سے خیر کا سوال کرنا

اَللّٰهُمَّ مَالِكَ الْمُلْكِ تُؤْتِی الْمُلْكَ مَنْ تَشَآءُ وَتَنْزِعُ الْمُلْكَ مِمَّنْ تَشَآءُ وَتُعِزُّ مَنْ تَشَآءُ وَتُذِلُّ مَنْ تَشَآءُ بِیَدِكَ الْخَیْرُ ۖ اِنَّكَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَیْئٍ قَدِیْر ۝ تُوْلِجُ الَّیْلَ فِی النَّهَارِ وَتُوْلِجُ النَّهَارَ فِی الَّيْلِ وَتُخْرِجُ الْحَیَّ مِنَ الْمَیِّتِ وَتُخْرِجُ الْمَیِّتَ مِنَ الْحَیِّ وَتَرْزُقُ مَنْ تَشَآءُ بِغَیْرِ حِسَابٍ ۝

Allahumma malika al-mulk, tu'ti al-mulka man tasha'u wa tanzi' al-mulka mimman tasha'u wa tu'izzu man tasha'u wa tudhillu man tasha'u biyadika al-khair, innaka 'ala kulli shay'in qadir. Tuwliju al-layla fi al-nahari wa tuwliju al-nahara fi al-layl wa turziq man tasha'u bi ghayri hisab.

O Allah, Owner of Sovereignty, You give sovereignty to whom You will and You take sovereignty away from whom You will. You honor whom You will and You humble whom You will. In Your hand is [all] good. Indeed, You are over all things competent. You cause the night to enter the day, and You cause the day to enter the night; and You bring the living out of the dead, and You bring the dead out of the living. And You give provision to whom You will without account.

اے اللہ بادشاہت کے مالک! تو جسے چاہتا ہے بادشاہت دیتا ہے اور جس سے چاہتا ہے بادشاہت چھین لیتا ہے اور تو جسے چاہتا ہے عزت دیتا ہے اور جسے چاہتا ہے ذلت دیتا ہے، تیرے ہاتھ میں ہر بھلائی ہے، بے شک تو ہر چیز پر قادر ہے تو رات کو دن میں داخل کرتا ہے اور دن کو رات میں داخل کرتا ہے اور تو زندہ کو مردہ سے نکالتا ہے اور تو مردہ کو زندہ سے نکالتا ہے اور تو جسے چاہتا ہے بے حساب رزق دیتا ہے
