کتاب الصلوة فی رمضان

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّی فِي الْمَسْجِدِ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ فَصَلَّی بِصَلَاتِهِ نَاسٌ ثُمَّ صَلَّی اللَّيْلَةَ الْقَابِلَةَ فَکَثُرَ النَّاسُ ثُمَّ اجْتَمَعُوا مِنْ اللَّيْلَةِ الثَّالِثَةِ أَوْ الرَّابِعَةِ فَلَمْ يَخْرُجْ إِلَيْهِمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحَ قَالَ قَدْ رَأَيْتُ الَّذِي صَنَعْتُمْ وَلَمْ يَمْنَعْنِي مِنْ الْخُرُوجِ إِلَيْکُمْ إِلَّا أَنِّي خَشِيتُ أَنْ تُفْرَضَ عَلَيْکُمْ وَذَلِکَ فِي رَمَضَانَ

ام المومنین حضرت عائشہ ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے نماز پڑھی مسجد میں ایک رات تو نماز پڑھی پیچھے آپ ﷺ کے لوگوں نے پھر دوسری رات میں اسی طرح پڑھی تو لوگ بہت آئے پھر لوگ تیسری یا چوتھی رات جمع ہوئے لیکن نبی ﷺ ( تراویح) کے لئے نہیں نکلے۔ جب صبح ہوئی تو آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا میں نے دیکھا جو تم نے کیا لیکن مجھے کسی چیز نے نکلنے سے نہیں روکا سوائے اس خوف سے کہ کہیں یہ ( تراویح) تم پر فرض نہ ہوجائے اور یہ قصہ رمضان میں تھا۔

Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Urwa ibn az-Zubayr from Aisha, the wife of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, prayed in the mosque one night and people prayed behind him. Then he prayed the next night and there were more people. Then they gathered on the third or fourth night and the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, did not come out to them. In the morning, he said, "I saw what you were doing and the only thing that prevented me from coming out to you was that I feared that it would become obligatory (fard) for you." This happened in Ramadan.

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ کَانَ يُرَغِّبُ فِي قِيَامِ رَمَضَانَ مِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ يَأْمُرَ بِعَزِيمَةٍ فَيَقُولُ مَنْ قَامَ رَمَضَانَ إِيمَانًا وَاحْتِسَابًا غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ فَتُوُفِّيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَالْأَمْرُ عَلَی ذَلِکَ ثُمَّ کَانَ الْأَمْرُ عَلَی ذَلِکَ فِي خِلَافَةِ أَبِي بَکْرٍ وَصَدْرًا مِنْ خِلَافَةِ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ

ابوہریرہ ؓ روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ رغبت دلاتے تھے لوگوں کو تراویح پڑھنے کی راتوں کو اور نہ حکم کرتے تھے بطور واجب کے تو فرماتے تھے آپ جس نے ترایح پڑھی رمضان میں اس کو حق سمجھ کر خاص اللہ کے لئے بخشے جائیں گے اگلے گناہ اس کے کہا ابن شہاب نے پس وفات ہوئی رسول اللہ ﷺ کی اور ایسا ہی حال رہا پھر ایسا ہی حال رہا حضرت ابوبکر کی خلافت میں اور شروع شروع حضرت عمر کی خلافت میں

Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Abu Salama ibn Abd ar-Rahman ibn Awf from Abu Hurayra that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, used to exhort people to watch the night in prayer in Ramadan but never ordered it definitely. He used to say, "Whoever watches the night in prayer in Ramadan with trust and expectancy, will be forgiven all his previous wrong actions." Ibn Shihab said, "The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, died while that wasstill the custom, and it continued to be the custom in the khalifate of Abu Bakr (RA) and at the beginning of the khalifate of Umar ibn al-Khattab."

عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَبْدٍ الْقَارِيِّ أَنَّهُ قَالَ خَرَجْتُ مَعَ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ فِي رَمَضَانَ إِلَی الْمَسْجِدِ فَإِذَا النَّاسُ أَوْزَاعٌ مُتَفَرِّقُونَ يُصَلِّي الرَّجُلُ لِنَفْسِهِ وَيُصَلِّي الرَّجُلُ فَيُصَلِّي بِصَلَاتِهِ الرَّهْطُ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ وَاللَّهِ إِنِّي لَأَرَانِي لَوْ جَمَعْتُ هَؤُلَائِ عَلَی قَارِئٍ وَاحِدٍ لَکَانَ أَمْثَلَ فَجَمَعَهُمْ عَلَی أُبَيِّ بْنِ کَعْبٍ قَالَ ثُمَّ خَرَجْتُ مَعَهُ لَيْلَةً أُخْرَی وَالنَّاسُ يُصَلُّونَ بِصَلَاةِ قَارِئِهِمْ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ نِعْمَتِ الْبِدْعَةُ هَذِهِ وَالَّتِي تَنَامُونَ عَنْهَا أَفْضَلُ مِنْ الَّتِي تَقُومُونَ يَعْنِي آخِرَ اللَّيْلِ وَکَانَ النَّاسُ يَقُومُونَ أَوَّلَهُ

عبدالر حمن بن عبدالقاری سے روایت ہے کہ میں نکلا عمر بن خطاب کے ساتھ رمضان میں مسجد کو تو دیکھا کہ لوگ جدا جدا متفرق پڑھ رہے ہیں کسی شخص کے ساتھ آٹھ دس آدمی پڑھ رہے ہیں تو کہا عمر نے قسم اللہ کی مجھے معلوم ہوتا ہے کہ اگر ان سب کو ایک قاری کے پیچھے کردوں تو اچھا ہو پھر ان سب کو ابی بن کعب کے پیچھے کردیا کہا عبدالرحمن نے پھر جب دوسری رات کو میں ان کے ساتھ آیا تو دیکھا کہ سب لوگ ابی بن کعب کے پیچھے نماز پڑھ رہے ہیں تب کہا حضرت عمر نے اچھی ہے یہ بدعت اور جس وقت تم سوتے ہو وہ بہتر ہے اس وقت سے جب نماز پڑھتے ہو یعنی اول رات اور لوگ کھڑے ہوتے تھے اول رات میں۔

Malik related to me from Ibn Shihab from Urwa ibn az-Zubayr that Abd ar-Rahman ibn Abdul Qari said, "I went out with Umar ibn alKhattab in Ramadan to the mosque and the people there were spread out in groups. Some men were praying by themselves, whilst others were praying in small groups. Umar said, By Allah! It would be better in my opinion if these people gathered behind one reciter. So he gathered them behind Ubayy ibn Kab. Then I went out with him another night and the people were praying behind their Quran reciter. Umar said, How excellent this new way is, but what you miss while you are asleep is better than what you watch in prayer. He meant the end of the night, and people used to watch the beginning of the night in prayer."

عَنْ السَّائِبِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ أَمَرَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ أُبَيَّ بْنَ کَعْبٍ وَتَمِيمًا الدَّارِيَّ أَنْ يَقُومَا لِلنَّاسِ بِإِحْدَی عَشْرَةَ رَکْعَةً قَالَ وَقَدْ کَانَ الْقَارِئُ يَقْرَأُ بِالْمِئِينَ حَتَّی کُنَّا نَعْتَمِدُ عَلَی الْعِصِيِّ مِنْ طُولِ الْقِيَامِ وَمَا کُنَّا نَنْصَرِفُ إِلَّا فِي فُرُوعِ الْفَجْرِ

سائب بن یزید سے روایت ہے کہ حکم کیا حضرت عمر نے ابی بن کعب اور تمیم داری کو گیارہ رکعت پڑھانے کا کہا سائب بن یزید نے کہا امام پڑھتا تھا سو سو آیتیں ایک رکعت میں یہاں تک کہ ہم سہارا لگاتے تھے لکڑی پر اور نہیں فارغ ہوتے تھے ہم مگر قریب فجر کے۔

Yahya related to me from Malik from Muhammad ibn Yusuf that as-Saib ibn Yazid said, "Umar ibn al-Khattab ordered Ubayy ibn Kab and Tamim ad-Dari to watch the night in prayer with the people for eleven rakas.The reciterof the Quran would recite the Miin (a group of medium-sized suras) until we would be leaning on our staffs from having stood so long in prayer. And we would not leave until the approach of dawn."

عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ رُومَانَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ کَانَ النَّاسُ يَقُومُونَ فِي زَمَانِ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ فِي رَمَضَانَ بِثَلَاثٍ وَعِشْرِينَ رَکْعَةً

یزید بن رومان سے روایت ہے کہ لوگ پڑھتے تھے حضرت عمر کے زمانے میں تیئس رکعتیں۔

Yahya related to me from Malik that Yazid ibn Ruman said, "The people used to watch the night in prayer during Ramadan for twenty-three rakas in the time of Umar ibn al-Khattab."

عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ الْحُصَيْنِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ الْأَعْرَجَ يَقُولُ مَا أَدْرَکْتُ النَّاسَ إِلَّا وَهُمْ يَلْعَنُونَ الْکَفَرَةَ فِي رَمَضَانَ قَالَ وَکَانَ الْقَارِئُ يَقْرَأُ سُورَةَ الْبَقَرَةِ فِي ثَمَانِ رَکَعَاتٍ فَإِذَا قَامَ بِهَا فِي اثْنَتَيْ عَشْرَةَ رَکْعَةً رَأَی النَّاسُ أَنَّهُ قَدْ خَفَّفَ

داؤد بن حصین نے سنا عبدالرحمن بن ہرمز اعرج سے کہتے تھے میں نے پایا لوگوں کو لعنت کرتے تھے کافروں پر رمضان میں اور امام پڑھتا تھا سورت بقرہ آٹھ رکعتوں میں جب بارہ رکعتوں میں پڑھتا تھا تو لوگوں کو معلوم ہوتا تھا کہ تخفیف کی۔

Yahya related to me from Malik from Daud ibn al-Husayn that he heard al-Araj say, "I never saw the people in Ramadan, but that they were cursing the disbelievers." He added, "The reciter of Quran used to recite surat al-Baqara in eight rakas and if he did it in twelve rakas the people would think that he had made it easy."

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَکْرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يَقُولُ کُنَّا نَنْصَرِفُ فِي رَمَضَانَ فَنَسْتَعْجِلُ الْخَدَمَ بِالطَّعَامِ مَخَافَةَ الْفَجْرِ

عبداللہ بن ابی بکر سے روایت ہے کہتے تھے سنا میں نے اپنے باپ سے کہتے تھے جب فراغت پاتے تھے تراویح سے رمضان میں تو جلدی مانگتے تھے نوکروں سے کھانے کو فجر ہونے کے ڈر سے۔

Yahya related to me from Malik that Abdullah ibn Abi Bakr said, "I heard my father say, We finished praying in Ramadan and the servants hurried with the food, fearing the approach of dawn. "

عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ ذَکْوَانَ أَبَا عَمْرٍو وَکَانَ عَبْدًا لِعَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَعْتَقَتْهُ عَنْ دُبُرٍ مِنْهَا کَانَ يَقُومُ يَقْرَأُ لَهَا فِي رَمَضَانَ

عروہ بن زبیر سے روایت ہے کہ ذکوان جو غلام تھے حضرت عائشہ کے اور ان کو حضرت عائشہ نے آزاد کردیا تھا اپنے بعد کھڑے ہوتے تھے اور پڑھاتے تھے نماز ان کی رمضان میں۔

Yahya related to me from Malik from Hisham ibn Urwa from his father that Dhakwan Abu Amr (a slave belonging to Aisha, the wife of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, who was freed by her after her death) used tostand in prayer and recite for her in Ramadan.
