هُوَ الْاَوَّلُ وَ الْاٰخِرُ وَ الظَّاهِرُ وَ الْبَاطِنُ وَ هُوَ بِكُلِّ شَیْءٍ عَلِیْمٌ
Huwal awwalu wal ākhiru waẓ ẓāhiru wal bāṭinu, wa huwa bikulli shai’in ‘alīm.
He is the First and the Last, the Ascendant and the Intimate, and He is, of all things, Knowing.
وہی اوّل بھی ہے اور آخر بھی، ظاہر بھی ہے اور پوشیده بھی، اور وه ہر چیز کا علم رکھتا ہے

Background & narration
Abū Zumail (Samak bin Walid Hanafi) (r.h) said, I asked Ibn ‘Abbās (r.a), ‘What should be done about the feelings I find in my heart?’ He asked, ‘What is it?’ I replied, ‘I swear by Allah (s.w.t), I cannot speak about it.’ He asked me, ‘Is it doubt?’ and he laughed. He then said ‘No one can escape that, even Allah, the Exalted, has revealed, So if you are in doubt, [O Muḥammad (s.a.w) ], about that which We have revealed to you, then ask those who have been reading the Scripture before you…’ [Yūnus: 94] He (s.a.w) said, ‘If you find something in your heart, then say: He is the First and the Last, the Ascendant and the Intimate, and He is, of all things, Knowing. حضرت ابو زُمَیل رحمه الله (سماک بن ولید حنفی) کہتے ہیں که میں نے حضرت ابن عباس رضی الله عنه سے سوال کیا: اس کیفیت کا کیا ہو جو میں اپنے سینے میں پاتا ہوں؟ انہوں نے پوچھا: وه کیا ہے؟ میں نے کہا: الله کی قسم! میں اسے زبان پر نہیں لا سکتا۔ انہوں نے کہا: کیا وه شک شبه والی بات ہے؟ اور وه ہنس دیے اور بولے:٠ اس سے کسی کو نجات نہیں۔ حتی که الله تعالیٰ نے یه آیت اتاری (فَاِنْ کُنْتَ فِیْ شَکٍّ مِّمَّآ اَنْزَلْنَآ اِلَیْکَ فَسْئَلِ الَّذِیْنَ یَقْرَءُوْنَ الْکِتٰبَ) (یونس: 94) پھر انہوں نے مجھ سے کہا: جب تم اپنے جی میں کچھ محسوس کرو تو یه پڑھا کرو۔ ھُوَ الْاَوَّلُ وَ الْاٰخِرُ وَ الظَّاھِرُ وَ الْبَاطِنُ وَ ھُوَ بِکُلِّ شَیْءٍ عَلِیْمٌ o وہی اوّل بھی ہے اور آخر بھی، ظاہر بھی ہے اور پوشیدہ بھی، اور وه ہر چیز کا علم رکھتا ہے۔ (الحد ید: 3) (سنن أبی داؤد: 5110) حسن
