70. Surah Al-Ma'aarij

وَ الَّذِیْنَ هُمْ بِشَهٰدٰتِهِمْ قَآئِمُوْنَ۪ۙ ﴿٣٣﴾Open ayah 70:33 in the Quran reader

and those who are upright in their testimonies,

وَ الَّذِیْنَ هُمْ عَلٰى صَلَاتِهِمْ یُحَافِظُوْنَؕ ﴿٣٤﴾Open ayah 70:34 in the Quran reader

and those who take due care of their salah.

اُولٰٓئِكَ فِیْ جَنّٰتٍ مُّكْرَمُوْنَ٢ؕ۠ ﴿٣٥﴾Open ayah 70:35 in the Quran reader

Those will be honored in gardens (of Jannah).

فَمَالِ الَّذِیْنَ كَفَرُوْا قِبَلَكَ مُهْطِعِیْنَۙ ﴿٣٦﴾Open ayah 70:36 in the Quran reader

So what has happened to those who disbelieve that they are rushing towards you

عَنِ الْیَمِیْنِ وَ عَنِ الشِّمَالِ عِزِیْنَ ﴿٣٧﴾Open ayah 70:37 in the Quran reader

from the right and from the left, in groups?

اَیَطْمَعُ كُلُّ امْرِئٍ مِّنْهُمْ اَنْ یُّدْخَلَ جَنَّةَ نَعِیْمٍۙ ﴿٣٨﴾Open ayah 70:38 in the Quran reader

Does every one of them aspire to be admitted to the garden of bliss?

كَلَّا١ؕ اِنَّا خَلَقْنٰهُمْ مِّمَّا یَعْلَمُوْنَ ﴿٣٩﴾Open ayah 70:39 in the Quran reader

By no means! We have created them from what they know.

فَلَاۤ اُقْسِمُ بِرَبِّ الْمَشٰرِقِ وَ الْمَغٰرِبِ اِنَّا لَقٰدِرُوْنَۙ ﴿٤٠﴾Open ayah 70:40 in the Quran reader

] So, I swear by the Lord of the points of sunrise and those of sunset, We are powerful

عَلٰۤى اَنْ نُّبَدِّلَ خَیْرًا مِّنْهُمْ١ۙ وَ مَا نَحْنُ بِمَسْبُوْقِیْنَ ﴿٤١﴾Open ayah 70:41 in the Quran reader

to bring those better than them in their place, and We are not to be frustrated.

فَذَرْهُمْ یَخُوْضُوْا وَ یَلْعَبُوْا حَتّٰى یُلٰقُوْا یَوْمَهُمُ الَّذِیْ یُوْعَدُوْنَۙ ﴿٤٢﴾Open ayah 70:42 in the Quran reader

So, leave them involved in pastime and play until they encounter their Day which they are promised,

یَوْمَ یَخْرُجُوْنَ مِنَ الْاَجْدَاثِ سِرَاعًا كَاَنَّهُمْ اِلٰى نُصُبٍ یُّوْفِضُوْنَۙ ﴿٤٣﴾Open ayah 70:43 in the Quran reader

the Day they will come out of the graves quickly, as if they were rushing toward idols,

خَاشِعَةً اَبْصَارُهُمْ تَرْهَقُهُمْ ذِلَّةٌ١ؕ ذٰلِكَ الْیَوْمُ الَّذِیْ كَانُوْا یُوْعَدُوْنَ۠ ﴿٤٤﴾Open ayah 70:44 in the Quran reader

with their eyes downcast, enveloped by ignominy. That is the Day which they were being promised.
