9th of Dhul Hijjah – The Day of Arafah

At the time of sunrise, depart from Mina for Arafat while reciting takbir, tahlil and talbiyyah on the way.

طلوعِ آفتاب کے بعد تکبیر، تہلیل اور تلبیہ پکارتے ہوئے منٰی سے عرفات کے لیے روانہ ہوجائیں۔

Offer zuhr and asr prayers in congregation, shortened and combined with one adhan and two iqamahs. There is no sunnah or nafl prayer between these two prayers.

ظہر اور عصر کی نمازیں ایک اذان اور دو اقامت کے ساتھ جمع اور قصر باجماعت ادا کریں۔ دونوں نمازوں کے درمیان کوئی سنت یا نفل نماز نہیں ہے۔

After offering zuhr and asr prayers, enter the plain of Arafat.

ظہر اور عصر کی نمازیں ادا کرنے کے بعد میدانِ عرفات میں داخل ہوں۔

Raise your hands and supplicate while standing and facing the qiblah from after zawal till sunset at the plain of Arafat. It is permissible to sit due to any valid reason.

میدانِ عرفات میں زوال کے بعد سے مغرب تک قبلہ رو کھڑے ہو کر ہاتھ اٹھا کر دعائیں مانگیں۔ شرعی عذر کی وجہ سے بیٹھا جا سکتا ہے۔

Wuquf (standing in worship) at Arafat is a pillar of Hajj, without performing it the Hajj is invalid.

وقوف عرفہ حج کا رکن ہے اگرادانہ کیا جائے تو حج نہیں ہوتا۔

On the Day of Arafah the best supplication is what the prophets made: There is no true deity except Allah, alone, there is no partner for Him, to Him belongs the dominion and all praise and He is over all things always All-Powerful.

عرفہ کے دن کی بہترین دعا جو انبیا نے مانگی الله کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں، وہ اکیلا ہے، اس کا کوئی شریک نہیں، اسی کی بادشاہت ہے اور سب تعریف اسی کے لیے ہے اور وہ ہر چیز پر قدرت رکھتا ہے۔

Soon after sunset, leave Arafat for Muzdalifah without offering maghrib salah.

سورج غروب ہوتے ہی نمازِمغرب ادا کیے بغیر عرفات سے مزدلفہ کے لیے روانہ ہوجائیں۔
