Sa’i

Running between Safa and Marwah is called sa’i. Sa’i is a pillar of Hajj and umrah. Hajj and umrah is not complete without it.

صفا اور مروہ کے درمیان دوڑنے کو سعی کہتے ہیں۔ سعی عمرہ اور حج دونوں کا رکن ہے اس کے بغیر حج و عمرہ مکمل نہیں ہوتا ۔

Ablution is not necessary for sa’i although it is better to be in ablution.

سعی کے لیے وضو ضروری نہیں البتہ با وضو ہونا افضل ہے ۔

Due to any illness or disability one may perform the tawaf or sa’i on a wheelchair or any other ride.

کسی بیماری یا معذوری کی وجہ سے طواف اورسعی ویل چیئر پر یا سوار ہو کر بھی کر سکتے ہیں ۔

There is no blame if sa’i gets delayed after tawaf.

طواف کے بعد سعی کرنے میں تاخیر ہو جائے تو کوئی حرج نہیں۔

Perform seven rounds between Safa and Marwah with love and passion. Complete seven rounds by counting Safa to Marwah as one round and from Marwah to Safa as second round and complete seven rounds.

شوق اور محبت کے ساتھ صفا و مروہ کے درمیان سات چکر لگائیں۔ صفا سے مروہ تک ایک اورمروہ سے صفا تک دوسرا چکر شمار کر کے سات چکر پورے کریں ۔

Do istilam of Hajr al-Aswad before going to Safa and Marwah and say Allahu Akbar.

صفا ومروہ پر جانے سے قبل حجرِ اسود کا استلام کریں اور''اَللّٰہُ اَکْبَرُ'' کہیں۔

Recite this while coming towards the hill of al-Safa. Indeed, Safa and Marwah are among the symbols of Allah. [Al-Baqarah: 158]

صفا پہاڑی کی طرف آتے ہوئے پڑھیں : بے شک صفا اور مروہ الله کی نشانیوں میں سے ہیں۔

And then recite: I begin with what Allah began with.

پھر پڑھیں میں ابتدا کرتا ہوں جس سے الله تعالیٰ نے ابتدا کی۔

Ascend the hill of Safa, face the Qibla, (1) say Allahu Akbar three times, (2) say the following words: There is no true deity except Allah alone, He has no partners, His is the dominion and His is the praise and He is over everything always All-powerful. There is no true deity except Allah alone, who fulfilled His promise, and gave victory to His servant and defeated the confederates alone.

صفا پہاڑی پرچڑھیں، قبلہ رخ ہو کرتین مرتبہ اَللّٰہُ اَکْبَرُ کہیں اور درجِ ذیل کلمات پڑھیں الله کے سوا کوئی الہ نہیں وہ اکیلا ہے اس کا کوئی شریک نہیں، بادشاہی اور تعریف اسی کے لیے ہے اور وہ ہر چیز پر قادر ہے، الله کے سوا کوئی الہ نہیں، وہ اکیلا ہے اس نے اپنا وعدہ پورا کیا اور اپنے بندے کی مدد فرمائی اور تنہا تمام لشکروں کو شکست دی۔

(3) pray for whatever you want. Perform steps 1, 2, and 3 thrice.

پھر جو چاہیں دعا مانگیں۔ یہ عمل تین بار دہرائیں۔

While performing sa’i excessively read adhkar, supplications, tasbih, tahlil, glorification and praise of Allah.

سعی کرتے ہوئے کثرت سے ذکر و دعا، تسبیح و تہلیل اور حمد و ثنا کریں ۔

Following supplication can also be made while performing sa’i: My Lord! Forgive and have mercy; you are the most honorable and glorified.

دوران سعی یہ دعا بھی ما نگ سکتے ہیں اے میرے رب! مجھے معاف فرما،مجھ پر رحم فرمااور تو ہی عزت والا ،بزرگی والا ہے۔

Sa’i can be paused due to some valid reason and when the reason ends resume sa’i from where you stopped.

کسی عذر کی بنا پر سعی کا سلسلہ منقطع کیا جا سکتا ہے۔ عذر دورہو جانے کے بعد سعی کا باقی حصہ اسی جگہ سے شروع کریں جہاں سے چھوڑا تھا۔

A menstruating woman can perform sa’i during menstruation.

حائضہ خاتون دوران حیض سعی کر سکتی ہے۔

When coming towards Marwa from Safa, men should run between the fluorescent green lights.

صفا سے اتر کر مروہ کی طرف آتے ہوئے مرد سبز روشنیوں کے درمیان دوڑیں۔

Ascend the hill of Marwa, face the Qibla, (1) say Allahu Akbar three times, (2) say the following words: There is no true deity except Allah alone, He has no partners, His is the dominion and His is the praise and He is over everything always All-powerful. There is no true deity except Allah alone, who fulfilled His promise, and gave victory to His servant and defeated the confederates alone. (3) pray for whatever you want. Perform steps 1, 2, and 3 thrice. Repeat these steps every time you ascend Safa and Marwah.

مروہ پہاڑی پرچڑھتے ہوئے بھی قبلہ رخ ہو کرتین مرتبہ اَللّٰہُ اَکْبَرُ اور درجِ ذیل کلمات پڑھیں الله کے سوا کوئی الہ نہیں وہ اکیلا ہے اس کا کوئی شریک نہیں ،بادشاہی اور تعریف اسی کے لیے ہے اور وہ ہر چیز پر قادر ہے ،الله کے سوا کوئی الہ نہیں ، وہ اکیلا ہے اس نے اپنا وعدہ پورا کیا اور اپنے بندے کی مدد فرمائی اور تنہا تمام لشکروں کو شکست دی۔ پھر جو چاہیں دعا مانگیں۔ یہ عمل تین بار دہرائیں۔

Repeat these steps every time you ascend Safa and Marwah.

ہر مرتبہ صفا و مروہ پر چڑھتے ہوئے یہی عمل دہرائیں۔
