لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللّٰهُ وَحْدَهُ
There is no god but Allah alone.
۔ اللہ کے سوا کوئی الٰہ نہیں ، وہ اکیلا ہے

Background & narration
It is narrated from Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once he swore by Al-Lat and Al-Uzza (idols). His companions told him, "You have spoken something inappropriate." He went to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "I am newly entered into Islam, and I swore by Al-Lat and Al-Uzza." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) told him, "Say three times: لَا اِلٰہَ اِلَّا اللّٰہُ وَحْدَہُ (There is no deity but Allah, alone). Then spit to your left three times and seek refuge in Allah from the devil, and do not say such things again." (Musnad Ahmad: 1622)
سعد بن ابی وقاص رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ انہوں نے لات اور عزی کی قسم کھالی تو ان کے ساتھیوں نے ان سے کہا کہ تم نے بے ہودہ بات کہی،وہ نبی کریمﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہو ئے اور کہا: میں نے ابھی نیانیا اسلام قبول کیا ہے اور میں نے لات اور عزی کی قسم کھا لی ہے ۔ نبی کریمﷺنے ان سے فرمایا: ''تین مرتبہ کہو : ٠ لَا اِلٰہَ اِلَّا اللّٰہُ وَحْدَہُ۔ اللہ کے سوا کوئی الٰہ نہیں ، وہ اکیلا ہے، اور بائیں جانب تین مرتبہ تھتکار دواور شیطان سے اللہ کی پناہ مانگو اور آئندہ ایسے مت کہنا''۔ ] مسند أحمد:1622[
