اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنَّ فُلَانَ بْنَ فُلَانٍ فِیْ ذِمَّتِكَ وَ حَبْلِ جِوَارِكَ فَقِهِ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْقَبْرِ وَ عَذَابِ النَّارِ وَ اَنْتَ اَهْلُ الْوَفَاءِ وَ الْحَقِّ اَللّٰهُمَّ فَاغْفِرْلَهُ وَ ارْحَمْهُ اِنَّكَ اَنْتَ الْغَفُوْرُ الرَّحِیْمُ
Allāhumma inna fulānabna fulānin fī dhimmatika wa ḥabli jiwārika faqihi min fitnatil qabri wa ‘adhābin nāri wa anta ahlul wafā’i wal ḥaqqi, allāhumma faghfir lahu war ḥamhu innaka antal ghafūrur raḥīmu.
O Allah, surely so and so son of so and so [name of the person] is under Your care and protection, so save him from the trial of the grave and from the punishment of the Fire. You fulfil promises and grant rights. O Allah, forgive him and have mercy on him, surely You are the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful. Note: Mention the name of the deceased in place of fulānabna fulānin.
اے الله! فلاں بن فلاں تیرے ذمے اور تیری پناه میں ہے، پس اسے قبر کی آزمائش اور آگ کے عذاب سے بچا اور تو وفا اور حق کا اہل ہے اے الله! پس اسے بخش دے اور اس پر رحم کر، یقینا تو ہی بخشنے والا بےحد مہربان ہے نوٹ:فلاں بن فلاں کی جگه میت کا نام لیں

Background & narration
Wāthilah bin al-Asqa‘ (r.a) reported, the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) led us in a funeral prayer of a Muslim man and I heard him say: ‘O Allah, surely so and so, son of so and so [name of the person], is under Your care, so save him from the trial of the grave’ Whereas ‘Abdur Raḥmān (r.a) in his version said: …is under Your care and protection, so save him from the trial of the grave and from the punishment of the Fire. You fulfil promises and grant rights. O Allah, forgive him and have mercy on him, surely You are the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful. [Sunan Abū Dawūd: 3202] Ṣaḥīḥ
حضرت واثله بن اسقع رضی الله عنه بیان کرتے ہیں که رسول الله صلی الله علیه وسلم نے ہمیں ایک مسلمان کی نمازِ جنازه پڑھائی۔ میں نے آپؐ کو یه کہتے ہوئے سنا’اَللّٰھُمَّ اِنَّ فُلَانَ بْنَ فُلَانٍ فِیْ ذِمَّتِکَ وَ حَبْلِ جِوَارِکَ فَقِهِ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْقَبْرِ۔ اے الله! فلاں بن فلاں تیرے ذمے میں ہے، پس اسے قبر کی آزمائش سے بچا‘جب که عبد الرحمن بن ابراہیم (سند کے راوی) نے یوں کہا فِیْ ذِمَّتِکَ وَ حَبْلِ جِوَارِکَ فَقِهِ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْقَبْرِ وَ عَذَابِ النَّارِ وَ اَنْتَ اَھْلُ الْوَفَائِ وَ الْحَقِّ اَللّٰھُمَّ فَاغْفِرْلَهُ وَ ارْحَمْهُ اِنَّکَ اَنْتَ الْغَفُوْرُ الرَّحِیْمُ۔ که تیرے ذمے اور تیری پناه میں ہے، پس اسے قبر کی آزمائش اور آگ کے عذاب سے بچا اور تو وفا اور حق کا اہل ہے۔ اے الله! پس اسے بخش دے اور اس پر رحم کر، یقینا تو ہی بخشنے والا بے حد مہربان ہے (سنن أبی داؤد: 3202) صحیح
